over a half century ago, I was discovered ‘finger painting’ on a wall next to my crib with ,..ahhh, shall we say the stuff I had on hand?  Thankfully, My mom decided to give me better ‘materials’ to express my creativity with- and from that day on I have drawn, painted, sculpted and scrolled my way through a very colorful and diverse life!  As is the case with being an ‘artist’, I’ve often had other vocations -which usually provide not only food and shelter, but fodder for my imagination -and sometimes one that leads me to a paying art commission!
